    The Col de Menée, at 1402 meters above sea level, is a historic crossing point between the Diois and Trièves. For vehicles, the passage of the pass is through the tunnel.

    From the summit of Mont Barral, a remarkable 360 ° view allows you to admire the Mont Aiguille and the Grand Veymont in the North, the Diois in the South-West (the Jocou is very close) and the Dévoluy chain in the South-East, including the beautiful Aiguilles de Lus and its main summit: the Grand Ferrand (2758 m), the second summit of Dévoluy.

Description

Departure from Col de Menée (parking), take the direction of Mont Barral, passing by The Tunnel 1 then Pré Rond 2. The trail is narrower and the slope gradually increases along the ridge to the summit of Mount Barral 3 (beautiful panorama over the whole region). From there, continue south to reach Crête de Jiboui Crest 4 and then turn to the right to take the GR 93 (white-red markings) for a moment until the Paturage de Jiboui  junction 5. The return to the Col de Menée takes place along a path along the alpine meadows and in the undergrowth (yellow and green markings).

Recommandations

You are on summery areas, maybe you will meet protective dogs, often Patous. Always be sure to bypass the herds, while remaining calm while the dog identifies you, not caressing or threatening them. If you have a dog (not recommended), keep it on a leash.

Use the passageways to cross the fences, close the gates and barriers, stay on the marked paths.

Staying on marked paths also means respecting private property.
