Discover the cirque de Choranche, an exceptional real open book on the history of the Vercors.
This excursion makes you discover various remarkable geological curiosities of the Vercors: underground lake, cascade de Tuf, without forgetting the famous Grotte de Choranche.

4 points of interest

  • Waterfall of Tuf

The Cascade de Tuf de Gournier is a living witness of the quantities of limestone "removed" from the mountains and that circulate invisibly in water. Rainwater runs through the fissures laden with carbonic acid in the soil. This acidity has the power to dissolve limestone. In favor of a change of environment, the calcite can be re-deposited giving rise to the concretions in the caves, or as here in Tuf which is a symbiosis with the mosses.
